The Wixom Public Library is dedicated to being part of the community we serve and to provide accessible services for all. Please see below for the different services available to residents, community groups, schools, and more.

School Visits

Introduce a love of books and learning with a Library outreach visit! We provide many options for visits and field trips. A librarian can come to your school event, provide a story-time, talk about Summer Reading, and more! The Wixom Public Library, Commerce Township Community Library, and Walled Lake City Library invite you to fill out this Outreach Request form for your school event. Once submitted, a librarian at the library that best matches your municipality will reach out to you about coordinating your event.

Schedule a Library Visit or Tour

Bring students to the library and we can customize a tour tailored to your classroom needs/assignments.  Tours can include in-house database training, library scavenger hunts, story times, book talks, free exploration time and much more! Call or email us to set up a library visit or tour.

Magnifiers

Wixom Public Library owns a collection of magnifiers in different levels of magnification, styles, etc. These magnifiers are available for check-out so patrons may "test drive" the different magnifiers before making an expensive purchase for themselves. View a listing of some options here.

Large Print Books

Stop in to select a large print book from our collection of more than 1,000 large print titles. We can also request large print titles from other libraries. Librarians are always available to help you in selecting materials.

Oakland Talking Books Service

This free service administered by the Rochester Hills Public Library, loans talking books and magazines, large print books, Braille and talking book players to eligible Oakland County residents of all ages. If you are unable to read or use standard printed materials as a result of temporary or permanent visual or physical limitations, you should qualify. A talking book player and materials will be mailed at no cost as Free Matter for the Blind. http://otbs.rhpl.org/

ESL Collection

There is a special ESL Collection in the Adult Non-Fiction area for adults who are trying to improve their reading or English language skills. Books, audiobooks, and DVDs are available to check out. Search the catalog here or ask a librarian for help.

Books by Mail is service provided to Wixom residents to receive free delivery of library books (regular and large print) and audiobooks by mail. If a resident cannot come to the library due to accessibility, illness, or other reasons, we can mail materials to a Wixom home address. All Wixom residents are eligible for this service - you do not need to be a senior citizen to qualify. Only items owned by Wixom Public Library are eligible to be mailed.

By signing up for this service, a resident must:

  • Agree to use the service on a permanent or temporary basis.
  • Be a Wixom resident.
  • Have a current Wixom library card in good standing.

If you are interested in having books and/or audiobooks delivered to your home, please fill out the Books By Mail form here or call 248-624-2512 and we will contact you. A paper applicaiton is available at the Information Desk.
