Giving Campaign: Children's Learning Corner

We have launched an annual giving campaign to raise funds toward a new learning corner in our Children's Department. The Learning Corner will feature interactive learning panels that teach early literacy skills, a reading bench and a discovery play box. 

A major component of the Library's strategic goals focuses on early literacy, the practice and skills acquired before a child learns to read. Research provides significant evidence of the positive effects that well-developed play has on various areas of child development, such as children’s social skills, emerging mathematical ability and mastery of early literacy concepts. An interactive Children's space helps to nurture children’s development during the critical first years of life and helps children enter school ready and able to learn.
