June 2000; revised August 2005
GED books and other books that the Library Director may recommend to the board, that are needed for a well-rounded collection, but consistently do not get returned, will be added to the collection as deposit books. In order to be checked out, a deposit in the amount of the replacement cost of the book, plus a $5.00 processing fee, will be collected from the borrower in the form of cash (no checks) and will be held until the book is returned. Any overdue fines may be deducted from the amount collected. If the book has not been returned in 45 days, the money will be used to replace the book, so other patrons may borrow it.
